Kadayawan Festival: Celebrate Culture and Harvest in Davao City

Experience the heart of Davao  through the vibrant and colorful Kadayawan Festival! Held every August, this week-long celebration is one of the most exciting and culturally rich festivals in the Philippines. It honors the bountiful harvest, diverse indigenous tribes, and the beauty of Davao’s people, land, and traditions.

What Is the Kadayawan Festival?

The Kadayawan Festival is an annual event in Davao City, usually held on the third week of August. The name “Kadayawan” comes from the Dabawenyo word madayaw, meaning “valuable,” “superior,” or “beautiful.”

Originally a harvest festival of the indigenous tribes of Davao, it has grown into a major city-wide celebration of life, culture, and abundance.
